Matt Hammond

Matt Hammond is a strength-focused coach with over 8 years of experience in functional fitness and a passion for Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting. A former Division 3 baseball player, Matt’s athletic achievements include being a three-year team captain, a four-time all-conference selection, and the 2015 Conference Player of the Year as a catcher. His competitive drive translates seamlessly into his coaching, where he inspires members to push beyond their limits while prioritizing safety and longevity. As a nurse in a busy urban ER, Matt witnesses the toll of neglecting physical and mental health. This perspective fuels his dedication to coaching, where he works to prevent people from reaching their lowest points by empowering them to invest in their well-being. He believes in the long-term value of physical, mental, and emotional effort and loves seeing how these translate into meaningful improvements in his members' daily lives. At BlkOps Fitness, Matt thrives on the diversity and dedication of the community. Whether members are striving to compete or simply aiming to improve their general health, Matt is there to guide and support them. Known for his approachable and helpful nature, he’s always willing to answer questions, solve problems, or connect members with the right resources. When he’s not at the gym or the hospital, Matt channels his competitive spirit into local fitness competitions or relaxes with his love for movies, TV shows, and video games. While he rarely passes up a chance to compete, his true passion lies in helping others achieve their goals and discover their potential.
